Dear Ordinary,
I don't love you. You and your BFFs, Mundane and Common, are comforting to many introverts, but to the extroverted sanguines like me, we tend to shudder at the sound of your name.
Ordinary.
I'm sorry. I just don't love you or the crew with which you run.
We just don't jive together.
And, let me tell you, it's definitely not me.
It's you. You are just so...average.
I'm just not cut out for the status quo.
So, I'm leaving you.
I want Awesome.

I'm visiting from FMF and I'm so glad you've popped back into the party - the community, really. I've never really thought of writing it as a letter...love this idea and how you spoke to Ordinary!

ReplyDeleteI would say to Ordinary and Mundane when they show up at my door, "Welcome! I'm glad you're here because Change has been here recently and I don't really care for her company. I much prefer that you guys stay a while and let me catch my breath." From one melancholic phlegmatic to you crazy outspoken shine of brightness, give your ordinary to me, you can keep the change!! <3 you!!
